Learning From the Best
Finding the Community
Last week was filled with inspiration. Because this is my first film, I have a lot of learning to do - and fast! Lucky for me, you all have introduced me to some incredible folks who can help me get this project off the ground. Every day this week, I’ll be spotlighting one of those wonderful people so you can learn with me. Let's start with:
Krista Vernoff
Screenwriter, showrunner, executive producer, and director, Krista is best known for running the TV drama Grey's Anatomy and its spin-off Station 19. She was also executive producer and writer for Shameless. Krista and I spoke last week about my film and the adventure of building a career in showbiz.
What I learned from her:
To be an actor, without creating your own work, is to give all your power away. If you can write, direct, produce, whatever - do it. Take control of your career.
