I’m Making a Film!

After spending five years in commercial production and one year in commercial acting, I’m fulfilling my dream of becoming a dramatic actor by producing my first short film.

Media shapes our thoughts and actions. Through film, I want to shape a world where people feel comfortable exploring, enjoying, and communicating about sex openly. I believe that by doing so, we can heal a lot of the hurt people inadvertently cause each other. The more people see representations of healthy sex in media, the healthier everyone’s sex will become! Who doesn’t want good sex? So, our lead character (played by me) will be a sex worker.

In the media, sex workers are often portrayed as victims without power or agency. While those stories exist, they are not the only stories. By telling the tale of a sex worker that focuses not on sex but on her relationships, her skills, and her value to others, we can show that she is a person, and her work is just that - work.

Sex-positive communities have been hugely transformative for me and my relationship to sex. Dabbling in sex work has been one of the most fulfilling and joyous parts of my life. In addition to my own experiences in this community, I am enlisting the help of several sex workers to consult on the script and story to make sure we’re keeping things both accurate and respectful.

A Decent Living is a light-hearted short that humanizes sex work by showing that sex work is real work. Keep an eye on the blog for updates!
